I am a disciple of Jesus Christ. Some would call me Christian, but in this world full of people claiming to be Christian, I hesitate to use that title for myself although it is true.
Too much of what is seen as Christianity is not Christianity. Most of those on television are not Christian. Those who yell and scream and name call and picket funerals are not Christian. Jesus did not do those things. Jesus did not promise health, wealth, a good life. Jesus said we as Christians would suffer.
“Remember the word that I said to you, ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will keep yours also.
Jesus also loved. He did not condone sin nor did he tell the sinner they were okay. Jesus loved sinners like me enough to tell us (me) that the way I lived my life was not going to end well.
1 Corinthians 6:9-11
Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.
I have lust in my heart that for years ruled my life. That made me a fornicator before marriage and an adulterer once I was married. It does not any more, but the temptations are still there every day.
